Where in Costa Rica?
Hi all
If you could go to one place in Costa Rica with young kids - to see wildlife and to make sure there is a swimming pool nearby - with maybe an option for surfing, where would you go? I don't want to move around much - if at all. Is there anywhere that satisfies this? I was thinking Corcovado for wildlife but not sure if it's the best place for young kids.
Thanks! Have a great holiday all!

I agree. I'd go to Manuel Antonio. We did a trip earlier this year and stayed at Tulemar Bungalows. We loved it because they have their own beach, so we could do tours and things in the morning, and then spend the day at the beach. They have a pool too where you can eat lunch, etc. Lots of wildlife on the property. We saw howler and capuchin monkeys, sloths, and an aracari there. Lots of hiking trails. A "restaurant" that serves food on the beach plus your villa will have a kitchen which is pretty convenient, and you can walk to lots of nearby restaurants and a nearby grocery store. The national park is really beautiful with lots of monkeys that are used to people so you can get fairly close and get good photos. The Osa is wonderful, but not that convenient for young kids, it's a little more wild than M.A. and sort of more off the grid.
Happy holidays to you too!

Volcanogirl is spot on. She was the primary contributor to my recent honeymoon itinerary! You can't go wrong with Manuel Antonio and Tulemar bungalows. Private beach, awesome wild life and great restaurants. Plenty of activites and shuttles pick you up and drop you off right at your doorstep. Surfing was a highlight and we had a photographer snap shots of us which provided some great memories.
