Someone posted a Costa Rica packing list on Lonely Planet's forums. Go to the Thorn Tree Forums, then to the Central America section, then click on the Central America branch FAQ thread. There are two CR packing lists on there - #15 and #33. And I've noticed a few of the websites for lodges in Corcovado have suggested packing lists. www.costaricaexpeditions.com has one too, in their travel tips section.
(I found all of this info in my trip research. We leave next month.)

DEFINITELY take only what will fit in a loosely-packed carry-on each, which should put you well under 20 pounds. That's my packing list mentioned above - #15 on the FAQ thread here:

Also, try searching for "neoprene socks" on this forum and you'll get 2 recent threads with a similar theme.
Have a great trip!

hopefulist - thank you for your packing list over on the LP site! I had just been trying to figure out if I could just take a carry-on or if I needed to check a bigger suitcase, for 3 weeks in CR, when I stumbled across your list, and also another packing thread on here where you were giving advice to teadrinker - so I'm going for it, and I'm going to try my darndest to pack light. (I'm also going to order one of those binoculars you recommended.)Thanks for all your tips!

I don't know what areas you will be staying, but we packed light (at least for us) and went to a laudromat part way through the trip. They did 3 loads for our family, washed, dried and folded for $10.
So worth it!
