Westin or Sheraton in Cabo?

I'm thinking of surprising my partner with a trip to Cabo. Does anyone have any advice on either the Westin or Sheraton? These are the only two resorts I'm considering as my Starwood status gets me upgrades and other extras....

Thanks in advance!

Don't know anything about the Sheraton but the Westin is well-known and supposedly fabulous. It is, however, outside of town so if you're interested in nightlife, it might not be right for you.

Can anyone compare these two properties? Rooms, luxury, restaurants? It appears that the Sheraton has more food choices but the Westin has nicer rooms?

I've been to Cabo twice and stayed at Sol Mar both times, right on the Pacific point, away from town. Rooms are ON the beach.

I live in CAbo, and while I haven't stayed at either resort, I have friends who have. The Sheraton "Hacienda Del Mar", is wonderful. There are several pools, and the flowers and palms are great. It is closer to Cabo San Lucas than the Westin. The Westin is also wonderful - a favorite of many. It is located closer to San Jose Del Cabo.
While taxi's are expensive, it is also very expensive to rent cars in Mexico because of the insurance. If you are willing to sit through a timeshare presentation you can usually get a discount on a car rental for a couple of days. There are also local buses that run between San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas that only cost about $1.

We paid $22 one-way from the Hilton Los Cabos to Cabo San Lucas. The Sheraton is a little bit closer to town, but not much and the Westin is closer to San Jose. Hope this helps.
