Vacation in Puerto Vallarta or Cancun
We would like to visit Puerto Vallarta or Cancun next year around Feb. 16, but the round trip tkts. are expensive $800-1000 checked this morning @ Expedia.com; cheapfares.com; travelocity.com. Does these prices sound right to you?? Last time we bought tkts. to go to Mexico was 9 years ago.<BR><BR>Thank you for your help.

You don't say where you are flying from but from Chicago it is usually cheaper to get a package (hotel, air, transfers) from Apple Vacations or Funjet. We found Puerto Vallarta was cheaper to book just the air from FunJet and then booked the hotel via Travelocity. Apple is better for us for Cancun with the whole package.

Hi Kris:<BR><BR>My apologies, we are leaving from Boston. For now I would go ahead and check Funjet and Apple and will see what happens wish me luck because I really want to go on this vacation. For lodging we usually stay in a condo or a house from www.vrbo.com.

Irma,<BR><BR>I have been to both cities and stayed at great resorts in both places and I think Puerto Vallarta is by far the best place to go. Cancun has gotten soooo touristy and all round PV is much nicer. We have been to the Hawaiian islands 4 times and we like PV a fairly close second. We stayed at the Paradise Village Spa and Resort and had a wonderful ov room. Some of the restaurants in PV are 1st class. We LOVED Cafe des Artes in town. Wonderful food and the outdoor room on the top level is wonderful. Have a great vacation!Check expedia or travelocity for package deals. The La Jolla de Mismaloya is another good resort and their package on expedia from Mn. is 1880.00 for plane and 4 nights for 2 in early March.....
