Uh-oh...booked flight to/from Liberia, CR

Help! I booked a roundtrip flight to/from Liberia. As I am doing more research, I realize that the places we would like to visit are closer to SJO. The places we want to visit are Arenal and Manuel Antonio. We also wanted to visit some of the beach areas closer to Liberia, i.e. Tamarindo area. Please help! Not sure how to organize our itinerary. Could we take domestic flights from one location to another? Are they expensive? We will be in Costa Rica for 6 days. Please advise. Thanks much.

Domestic flights have 3 tier levels (not sure if this is all seasons, but check Sansa and Nature Air) and the "loco" fares are actually quite cheap, so if they're not sold out that could be an option for you. Going to Arenal is ok, MA is a little more out of the way, plus if you only have 6 days that's really a 2 destination visit. 3n Arenal and 3n beach. What are your flight arrival and departure times?

You can check prices and schedules here:

Sansa:

Nature Air:

I think hipvirgochick is right. Six days would let you cover two destinations reasonably. Arenal is about equidistant from Liberia or San Jose, so that doesn't have to be an "Oops" situation, and if you stick to one of the North Pacific beaches instead of Manuel Antonio, flying to Liberia would turn out to be a good choice after all.

Like "Jeff Costa Rica" mentioned, the distance from Liberia to Arenal or from San Jose to Arenal is almost the same. If you are looking for more information on driving times visit: www.yourtravelmap.com

Hipvirgochick - we are arriving at 1p.m. on a Tuesday and leaving at 2p.m. the following Monday.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
