Nice photos! Thanks for sharing. We've been to MA (and inside the park) several times. Never have done the Mirador.

Great pics Carol. Yes that was the trail I liked better than Punta Catedral (I think was it's name). At the mirador there was a concrete platform where you could look right down the coast and (at least a few years ago) a little rickety wooden bridge you had to cross at one point - I was convinced it would collapse as I crossed it!

Forgot to ask....anyone know if Xandari is close by to Buena Vista hotel? I always thought they were very close to each other.

hi lutherkins- Sounds like you had a great time! Really enjoying reading about MA cause I think we're including on our next trip. Your driver sounds terrific. Also the restaurant tips (I'm really bad at remembering restaurant names when I'm on vacation!) Poas sounds gorgeous. Glad you took a chance at going...and actually saw it! Getting lost sure is scary. I feel your pain! I had a panic situation too last trip, not fun.

I do think that Xandari and Buena Vista are close. We kept seeing signs for Buena Vista while driving around, but never actually saw the hotel.

One more tip that I learned while in Costa Rica.
Do NOT bring a beach towel. We didn't pack one and planned on just buying one while in MA. I didn't even think of the humidity issue until someone at our hotel told us to buy a large sarong instead b/c the towels never dry and the sand stick to them. That was the best advice and the best purchase we made. We could both fit on the sarong and even that had a hard time drying with the amount of humidity in the air.
