We are planning a second trip to Mexico (Bucerias) next winter (I know a long way off - but I like to plan!) We are in our 70's and visited Bucerias last year for 10 days. We really enjoyed the vibre of Bucerias and the fact that there are many things to do close by. We are uncomfortable with renting a car so the local buses or easy taxi to places is key. We enjoy a good walking beach, close by restaurants, day- trips, local shopping.. and hiking or walking day trips. We have booked a condo in Bucerias for 2 weeks on the beach and would like to go somewhere else for an additional two weeks. Would appreciate any suggestions? We are thinking of Sayulita or San Pancho? Or should we try to go a little further to?? Any recommendations for private drivers? Thank you!
Since you said, 'Or should we try to go a little further to?? ', I'd suggest, since you'd have an additional 2 weeks, exploring some of central Mexico's colonial gems such as Guanajuato, Queretaro, Leon & San Miguel de Allende. If I'm reading a past posting that suggests you may be traveling in February, the weather will be quite pleasant in the central highlands. I'm just thinking that a change of pace from pure beach time might be interesting.
Thank you baldOne. I should have mentioned that several years ago we did visit Queretaro and San Miguel de Allende. (Our daughter was living in Queretaro at the time). And you are right, they were "gems". I was hoping to go somewhere closer to Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias. We were thinking of perhaps Guanajuato? Then also Sayulita? Looking for the best way to travel there? Bus or private driver? And any hotel recommendations?
