Tour Operators in Cancun
Hello everyone,
We are planning to visit Cancun in early November. I would appreciate your referral of great tour operators in Cancun. We are currently considering a Trimaran boat/snorkeling trip, horseback riding, and renting waverunners/jet skis (not the jungle tour).
I've also found some tour operators by searching Google and was wondering if any of you have use them previously:
1) Isango.com 2) cancun-discount.com 3) gohotels.com 4) themayangate.com 5)aquaworld.com.mx
Also, do you know if it would be easier/cheaper to book tour when i arrive in Cancun (similar to when you get off a cruise in port)?
Would love to hear your thought.
Thanks.

We went to Cancun for the 2nd time this past April. We used

to book a snorkel trip to Maroma Beach and a sunset cruise/beach dinner. We had not used them before and they were great.
We also booked on-line a trip to Chichen Itza. We wanted to ensure we got the deluxe bus with the restrooms. The only problem with this tour was that there was 8 other buses on the same tour so very crowded.
We have previously booked with Aqua World in Cancun and Cozumel. No problems. I know you indicated that you didn't want the jungle tour, but it was great. We've done the 30 minutes jet ski rentals and you can only drive around in a limited spot for your time period. The jungle tour, you get to explore. Much better.
I've found with booking on-line vs. booking once you get there, if you want a specific tour on a specific day at a specific time, to book ahead on-line. We are the type to plan out our vacation and not just do spur of the moment, so we get to experience everyhing and not come back saying I wish we did this and I wish we did that. The tours offered at the hotel's tour desk are limitied, so if you want something specifc they may not have it, so book those up-front also.
I hesitate booking deals once arriving at the destination from beach/street vendors. You never know what your going to get and booking with a credit card ensures that if your not satified you can file a complaint with your credit card company. It's a personal choice.
I did the same as you and just did a google search, found what I wanted and booked on-line. The only tour I booked at the hotel was the Party Hopper tour. Only because we were trying to get the tour that goes to Congo Bongo and found out they stopped going to that particular bar.

Thanks KVR for your suggestion. I too am not sure on how 'safe' it is to book locally once i arrive on site, but having done shore excursions while cruising mexico on the west coast that there tends to be somewhat of a cost savings.
I looked at the site and the Isla Mujer trimaran is listed at $79/adult versus $55/adult that i found on the other site...so wondering if there is more activity/experience packed with your tour operator.
I'll keep looking, but thank you for your great suggestions.

Here is a tour "broker", if I may suggest. He can offer and book any of the tours that you can think of, and some that you won't!

Check out Edventure Tours
http://www.edventuretours.com.mx/
Tell them what you want to do and see and they will arrange your entire day for you and provide you with your own driver/guide. Their prices are very reasonable and you don't have to deal with crowded buses, etc.
