Tour companies in Guanacaste

Is there a preferred tour company for the coastal area in the Northern Pacific? Everyone recommended Sunset Tours for Arenal. We don’t want to do much at the while we are at the beach part of our trip, but we do want to enjoy some awesome snorkeling and any other suggestions that maybe aren't "tourist traps" but things that we should really see so we can appreciate all the CR has to offer. Thanks you guys are so helpful! With all this research I feel like I know the country from top t bottom and we aren't even going until June! Thanks again.

Just some advice - you won't find "awesome" snorkeling in Costa Rica. It is okay, but CR is not a top spot for snorkeling. We went out of Flamingo on a catamaran to an island about an hour offshore. We thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling, saw numerous fish but it doesn't compare to spots in the Caribbean. I've read that the snorkeling further south isn't much better, so don't be disappointed.

Thanks for the insight, colibri! That will help us to not be disappointed, as we have snorkled in Carribean- but still too chicken to scuba!

Avispas Adventures very well could be a great tour co but I have thus far emailed them 4 times in the most 4 weeks and yet to get a response, on Trip Advisor there are about an equal number of people who loved them as there are who didnt get any response...thus i looked further and found 2 great: JandC tours and swisstravelcr.com, at J&C (Juan and Carol) its a husband and wife, he is Costa Rican and she is American, very nice and tours are good and fairly priced. At SwisstravelCR I deal with Cindy, a true pleasure and tours are equally as good and a little less expensive (bigger company probably gets bigger discounts), both good options for you maybe! Have an awesome trip!
