Tamarindo B&Bs

I've narrowed it down to FOUR B&Bs and hotels in Tamarindo... Has anyone stayed at any of these places who can tell me if they'd recommend them? We are looking for a place ON THE BEACH to relax and unwind...

La Casa Sueca B&B ($60/night)
http://www.tamarindo.com/sueca/

La Palapa Hotel ($70/night)
http://www.lapalapa.info/

Casa Rosa Beach House B&B ($105/night)
http://www.casarosabeachhouse.com/

Casa Doble B&B ($100/night)http://www.tamarindo.com/casadoble/

THANKS!!

Malia

I was looking for the same thing, beach front property in Tamarindo, and was surprised how few there really are. Plus some that adveritize as being on the beach are a little misleading because the beach is somthing of a hike to get to.

I'll be staying at Casa Cook which is on the beach and very close to it. It's next door to Casa Azul, the tree house place. You can check out Casa Cook at www.tamarindo.com/cook It looks great.

DCD,

How was your stay at Casa Cook? Was breakfast served? Also, does anyone have any comments for Casa Doble also?

Thanks! Tina

Hey, we ended up staying at Casa Rosa for three nights in Tamarindo. It was AMAZING, I really could not recommend it higher!!

The main house is flanked by two studio apartments that face the beach. Each studio consists of a large room with a high ceiling (and fan) and a large bed. There are night stands on either side and a dresser against one wall with a large mirror. There also is a single bed in the corner.

The bathroom has a shower (instead of a bath). There also is an interior room (no windows) where you can lock up your valuables. That room has a microwave, toaster, plates, utensils, small fridge, etc. That was nice because we could store our water and snacks in there...

In the back yard, there are two hammocks hanging from large trees and at least four rolling beach recliners that guests can use. They also have boogie boards for guests.

Next door is Hotel Captain Suizo, where you can go to the bar, get dinner or arrange for tours. They'll let you use their pool as long as you are spending money. We saw several monkeys and iguanas over there!

A short walk along the beach the other direction takes you to the town of Tamarindo. We walked to breakfast, walked to dinner...

Staying at Casa Rosa was so nice. I really felt an air of relaxation there... We loved how it was so close to Tamarindo and all the shops, restaurants, bars that the town has to offer... while also being far enough away to get some peace and quiet.

Hope that helps. Good luck! Have fun!

Tina:

We loved Casa Cook. You can read my review on Trip Advisor. Also I did a trip report review of it on this forum which you should be able to call up via a search for "Casa Cook". It does not serve breakfast but Captain Suizo does and it's an extremely easy 2 minute walk. The breakfast there was good and very reasonable.
