You mentioned zipline in MA. We went on the Canopy Safari zipline there and loved it. They have several ziplines (I forget how many) AND they do 2 repelling from trees and a Tarzan swing. They were very, very safety conscience and professional. Their main office is in Quepos, but they picked us up & dropped us off at our hotel in MA. We stopped at the office to sign waivers, then it's was @ 1 hr drive thru a huge plantation to the zipline site. We went in the morning & they served a very nice buffet breakfast when we got there. I'd definitely recommend them.

Thanks for the zipline recommendation! I'm still not sure my kids will go for it. We watched some youtube videos that people posted, but my kids weren't convinced. But MA will be at the end of that trip, so maybe they will have warmed up to the idea by then. I looked it up in my guidebook and that company, Canopy Safari, is recommended there too.

I visited Tabacon in the evening (that was the only time we could get tickets for) and had a fabulous time. I also went to Baldi Hot Springs when I was there and personally the experience was nowhere near as magical. Yes, you can find cheaper hot springs in the Arenal area but they're not going to be near as classy or special in my opinion. It's def. worth it to go to Tabacon.
