still a bank at Vallarta airport?

IIRC there was a small bank at the airport at Puerto Vallarta but we haven't been since about 1998 ... is this still there and still a good place to change $$ to pesos?

TIA

Bill

I don't think there's a cambio there any more(?) but there is an ATM.

I paid for an airport taxi with USD, then waited to get downtown/my hotel & either changed money at a street casa de cambio or found an ATM (June this year).

Thanks Suze ... we weren't going into town this trip, just heading north to a much smaller town that wants pesos, not $$, so was hoping to do the exchange at the airport.

Hopefully someone else will chime in and say for sure.

If not, ask over on the PV board at Trip Advisor (on the forum section, not the hotels reviews part). It is very active lately with lots of Vallarta folks posting there.

Hi Bill: I am wondering how far North you are going and to what town. If you are driving--La Penita, about 50 miles north, has a bank.

Blondlady, the town we're driving to has a bank but it's just soooo much easier to handle this at the airport

hummmmm Bill, do you have some secluded, quiet and quaint hideaway with a beautiful beach, not yet obstructed by tall condos and such that we should know about??? Have fun.

The last time I was there (May 2005) the bank with the multiple windows was still there. When you go through security, make a left. I always exchange currency there before I head into town.
