Should we visit Tambopata area?

We are traveling to Peru in October and considering adding a few days to`stay at Posada Amazonas. We'd like to know if the birds/wildlife/scenery are worth the trip. It may be a choice between that and the Nazca lines. Also, is it possible to drive to Nazca?

I have never been there, but I have a lot of information about this region and I saw many documents about this area.
Manu park and Tambopata is a must see in Peru! This area is famous for its natural wonders as parrots (hundreds of ara eating soil on the river bank of Tambopata), aslo all other animals typical for amazon region.
Hope your choice will be this, because I am going there for about one and half year. And once you are in Peru, be sure you have enough time to visit all wonders, Nazca including.

I have stayed twice at Posada Amazonas and yes, I feel it is definitely worth it to make the trip. I saw 4 species of monkeys, 3 different types of Macaws, toucans, Capybaras, and many other different types of mammals. I would highly recommend making the trip.

I would pick the jungle over the Nazca lines.

I'd prefer the Amazon to Nazca anytime.

If you don't want to fly into Puerto Maldonado its possible to access Manu by road from Cusco - driving over the Andes is an adventure in itself.

Regards,

Lodge is nice less wildlife and PM very dodgy you have to fly.

www.inkanatura.com Manu Wildlife Center

much better for wildlife jungle experience.

Nasca is best visited driving to/from Lima/Arequipa

www.cruzdelsur.com.pe

Hotel of the Nasca Lines best there.

If you can only do one do Manu Biosphere Reserve

It is AWESOME!
