SCUBA in Galapagos?
I have been trying to find info on this board regarding scuba diving in the Galapagos...there are many Galapagos trip reports with snorkeling but not much on actual SCUBA diving. We are going in mid April of this year for a 8-10 days or so. Does anyone know of a good dive operator? We will consider liveaboard options too.
Thanks for all your help.

I've no personal experience but try a search here:

Should give you plenty of reading. Have a great trip and be sure to tell us all about it. Happy trails!

Agree that scubaboard is a better place to research this. I have not been yet - working on improving my dive skills to cope with the currents- but here's some of what I've heard: The Aggressors and Peter Hughes's Sky Dancer tend to be the most favored by serious divers looking to go to Wolf and Darwin islands and usually are booked very far in advance. According to Undercurrent magazine, there has been a crack down on permiting of dives boat by the Galapagos National Park, so your boat options may be limited.
Take a look at this site for details:

Hope you can find something that meets you needs - should be an awesome trip.

Yes it looks like after further research there are currently VERY FEW options for scuba in the Galapagos. It seems the Ecuadorian government have cracked down on the amount of dive boats allowed to operate in the Galapagos. FYI I found this article interesting and useful.
