sao paolo-iguazu by car

Hello all,

Can you please let me know how long
it would take to drive from Sao Paolo to
the Iguazu falls?

The plane tickets cost about $490. Any recommendations on cheaper flights?

We decided not buy the airpass because we do not have time to use the 4 coupons.

All suggestions are appreciated.

All I know is from Buenos AIres to Iguazu it is much cheaper, less than half.
By car I have the feeling it is not a good idea.

Well, from Sao Paulo to Foz do Iguacu it would take around 16 hours to arrive there by bus, so I suppose by car you can be a little bit faster maybe, 'cause the bus does some breaks on it's journey!
Pluma buses leaves Barra Funda bus station in Sao Paulo daily at:
16:00
16:30
20:30

and Expresso Kayowa leaves at:
16:00
20:30
20:45
21:30

If you do not have much time and can't efford the BRAZIL AIRPASS consider to buy the VASP AIRPASS which will get you to the waterfalls for around 141 US Dollars in low season and 179 US Dollars in high-season.

CVC, a large and reliable brazilian tour operator, offers a package São Paulo - Cataratas do Iguaçu from R$ 748 (approx. US$ 260) = 4 days, round-trip plane tickets + hotel, or R$ 598 (approx. US$ 206) = 5 days, round-trip bus + hotel).
Have a look at: http://www.cvc.tur.br/

Hello. Sorry for my delay in answering you. CVC tours are supposed to be booked here in Brasil. Almost every local tourism agent will sell them. If you are not travelling during high season (july, or from december to february), nor on major hollidays, usually you may book only 1 or 2 days in advance. If anyway you want to book well in advance, may I suggest you contact a small tourism agent, not far from my home, which have been serving me flawlessly for the last 3 years [email protected] Their owners are Oscar and Sandra (husband and wife), very nice and reliable guys. Have a nice trip.
