Restaurant reco's for 3 nights in BA?
We'll be in BA for 3 nights, and would like the top 3 lunch (casual) & dinner places. With help from the forum, I have a list going but need to narrow it down even more! Here is what I have so far...
DINNER (pick 3):
1. Cabanas Los Lilas
2. Parilla 1880
3. La Corte (lunch or dinner?)
4. La Brigada
5. Sirop
LUNCH/SNACKS (pick 3):
1. La Caballeriza
2. Piola
3. El 22 (is this a lunch place?)
4. Sucre
We would like some variation in the type of food, but are open to suggestions. Would like to try out some non-touristy/local places for lunch.
Thank you in advance!

Most of the restaurants on your list focus on Argentine food....grilled meats....
Sucre is better at night than for lunch in my opinion.
Parrilla 1880 is ok for dinner, but it is at its livliest and best Sunday afternoons.
LaCorte...definitely at night.
Overall, some really good choices on your list. El22 is the only one on your list that I have not tried.
Piola is non touristy and good for lunch.

Thanks Drdawggy. I will switch Parilla & Sucre- great suggestion. In order to get a good mix of cuisines, which other ones would you recommened. For example, if we go to Parilla for lunch, what would be a good dinner option? WHat would be a good Italian restaurant for dinner? That way we're not having similar meals all day.

Cabana, Parrilla 1880, La Brigada, and La Caballeriza all fall in the grilled meat category.
Sucre, La Corte and Sirop offer more contemporary Argentine dishes...Sucre has an excellent fish dish in a vanilla sauce, for example....La Corte's menu changes regularly, but usually includes risotta dishes along with grilled meats....
For Italian at night, I like la Parollacia....there are several branches around town.....For lunch, Piola has pasta dishes as well as pizza....Bella Italia in Palermo is anohter good Italian choice at night...and the Bella Italia Cafe/bar is a good choice for lunch.

There is a small restaurant in Recoleta named "El Sanjuanino." Its specialty is emapanadas. It has been written up a number of times in various North American newspapers/food magazines. It was not a tourist destination from what we could see. We were there a few weeks ago and, although it is the simplest place, the empanadas were outstanding and we have eaten them in many places around the world. It is very inexpensive. It also serves "chicken under a brick" for which it is also known. It too was delicious, juicy and inexpensive. It is not a "formal" spot for lunch by any means, and gets packed at night but, for a mid or late day snack it is worth a taxi ride from wherever. Very memorable.
We also loved La Cabrera in Palermo Viejo. Grilled meats served with a vast array of small very tasty side dishes/dipping sauces and great salads. Good wine list. Informal and fun. A great spot.
