PV - Las Caletas vs Yelepa

Just wondering if anyone has taken the tour through Vallarta Adventures to Las Caletas? It looks like a very enjoyable way to spend a day down there, but I've not ever seen it recommended as something to do. I've seen Yelepa mentioned in a number of posts but wasn't sure if it was a similar experience.

We also are planning on doing their Outdoor Adventure tour which takes you hiking and rapelling down waterfalls - sounds very cool! Anyone have any experience with either of these tours?

I have done Las Caletas a couple of times and always enjoyed it. Most people have had good experiences going there for the day. I will warn you though- even though its not a "booze cruz" they do provide drinks on the way over and back. This has never bothered me ( i happen to like it!) but have read that some people did not like that aspect of it.
There lunch that they serve is really tasty and overall it's a beautiful place to visit for the day.
I have not been to Yelapa but heard good things about it.
Rapelling down waterfalls sounds like a blast- what company does that?
have you looked into Los Veranos canopy tour, it is an absolute thrill!!!

You can go to Yelapa on an organized day cruise. Or you can get there on your own by water taxi/boat from the pier at Playa Los Muertos or down from the beach at Boca.

Ivataly - our group certainly won't object to the serving of alcohol on the trip to Las Caletas. Glad you have enjoyed it - the trip description sounds like a great place to spend the day! The rappeling trip is offered by Vallarta Adventures:

It combines hiking, rappeling, and doing the zipline canopy experience in one. My wife and I have gone rock climbing before and love it, and this was the closest thing I could find to that near Puerto Vallarta.

It would cost you $6 US one way to get from Boca de Tomatlan to Yelapa . To get to Boca from PV proper, a bus runs from a couple of blocks up the street from Posada de Roger ( corner of Constitution and ?? )I'll remember!!For less than a dollar and the drive is really pretty .
