Puerto Vallarta in October

Pam,
October in Puerto Vallarta is usually pretty good, weather- wise. October is usually after the rainy season has ended, everything is very green and lush , but I have also been in P.V. in past Octobers and been subjected to some pretty hectic rains! The air temp should be warm but not uncomfortable, and the same for the ocean temp. It is a little before the "official" tourist season opens, so town and area should not be too crowded, and you may be able to get in on the tail end of some summer rates. Must see's are the coast line from one of the tour boats, small towns along the coast, and shopping in the downtown P.V. area.
My wife and I were remarried on our 30th wedding anniversary on October 7,1997, at Majahuitas Resort, about 13 miles south-west of P.V. It was a great experience and very romantic and comfortable. Please e-mail me if you wish more info on this spot.
Dick James

Hi Pam....October here in Vallarta will be warm, but cooler than Aug-September and everything will ben nice and lush-green from the rainy season! Not crowds of tourists yet, as it will be a bit early for that. Please see our website at www.seamiamor.com and then you can email me for ??. Gracias, P.

Deborah, Hurricanes are not likely in PV at any time. We've been to PV more than 30 times in last l5-l6 years, during all seasons. Worst weather has consisted of heavy rain for couple hours and high winds/waves while hurricane was down at Acapulco. It's my favorite little town to unwind in, enjoy good food and ambiance. Favorite restaurants include El Set, Le Bistro, Bogarts, La Palapa, Dacquiri Dicks, El Torito, and so many more. (Pam, all of those are nice romantic spots too for anniversary!) PV is a quaint, charming little village to walk around in and feel very safe. Beautiful sunsets. Lovely scenic beaches south of town. Taxis and buses cheap and easy to take.

Hello everyone !
First about the weather in October. Try to come as late as possible in October, the weather at the end of October and at the beginning of November is nice. The rainy season is over somewhere at the end of October, but sometimes it still rains a little during the first days of November. But it is definitely not as hot and humid anymore as during the summer.
You will have great sunny days, with possibly some rain in the late afternoon, evening or maybe even at night, when you wont even notice it , except for the fresh air in the morning.
I personally love the months of October and November as the vegetation is beautiful , everything is green and very lush. Beautiful for a trip into the mountains or to the South area.
If you are a bit adventurous you should definitely try a jeep-safari into the mountains.
If not, rent a nice car with an English speaking driver and explore the South side with it's beautiful waterfalls and jungle.
For your anniversary there are many great places for a romantic dinner. My favourite is the Caletas by Night, where you have a torch-lit dinner on a beach which is only accessible by boat.
Have a look at the following web-site for more information on activities :
http://www.royale-tours.com
or send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I will be happy to give you some more recommendations.

Hi Deborah : Now about your August-vacation. You should be prepared for hot weather, pack your hat and suntan-lotion with a high factor, and be prepared for tropical rains in the evening. Authentic places to eat, there are so many nice ones that you will be surprised. I really like Cheryl's suggestions, but her taste is not su inexpensive. If you want to pamper yourself for one night though, do try Bogarts, El Set, Le Bistro or La Palapa. My favorite of the four would be Bogarts though. Otherwise for the more informal , inexpensive and authentic dinners, try Pipis ( downtown ) or Cafe de Olla ( Old Vallarta ) . Both are excellent , have a great ambiance and have authentic Mexican food. Do not hesitate to contact me at my e-mail address if you are looking for any other recommendations.
Have a great trip !
