Wow, the pics of Casa Tia Micha look fantastic. From reviews it sounds like there is an older colonial style section(which is where all the trio advisor reviews are about) and a newer section. My vote would be for that lovely colonial style part of the hotel. The rooms look huge.
But please do get that late afternoon meal at El Meson de Marquee as you come back to town after seeing the ruins. You will not regret it.

Thank you emd3 you have been so helpful with all your information. I did look at the El Meson too. They quoted the candelaria room which I think us the old section? Seeing you know so much about the areas any recommendations for transfer company to valladolid from cancun airport? Would prefer a quicker way with kids, I know it will be more expensive

I am sorry, I do not know about that transfer. I arrive at CUN airport and take the bus from the airport direct to Playa del Carmen, stay in our condo for awhile, and then bus it or drive a rent car or fly from there to wherever else I am going in Mexico.
You might want to start a new thread and ask about a transfer from Cancun to Valladolid.
Or you could taxi from Cancun airport to Cancun's main bus station and get a nice bus to Valladolid. the buses run frequently, check the ADO bus website for schedules,

Here is the ADO website. There are between 7 to 9 buses a day, depending on the day, from Cancun's bus station (15 min taxi from airport) to Valladolid. the taxi driver ( you can get a van taxi) will deal with getting your luggage in the taxi and getting it out of the taxi at the bus station, and the bus driver will load your luggage under the bus. the ADO buses are very comfortable and nice, they give you a snack and water as you get on the bus usually, and it is a 2 hr ride. Then taxi from Valladolid bus station to hotel.
But if that sounds like too much after the long flight, I am sure there are transfer companies out there that hopefully would get you at airport and drive direct to Valladolid.
