hi tully
Welcome back.
Enjoyed all your photos.
I also liked Granada.
It sure has some nice old building there.... too bad that many of them just need a good coat of paint.
What did you think of the Masaya Volcano!
How terrible was the sulphur smell!
They tell people with Asthma not to be there for more than about 15 minutes.
Where did you fly to( in Nicaragua) from Florida.?
Oh yes, one more thing, don't you think the roads in poorer Nicaragua are better and nicer than in Costa Rica.
Thanks again for sharing all those pictures and Yes I looked at everyone.!

Thanks all
I will try to get a trip report soon before my forgetfulness sets in!
Percy I found the roads even worse than in CR, with exception the Pan American. The last 20 minutes or so before Granada were bone jarring and very slow going, and the 1 hour drive from Rivas to Morgan's Rock was a mix of hard bumpy dirt road and soft muddy dirt road. The driving itself is very similiar though! All over the road (swerving to avoid monster potholes), beeping a stop signs while rolling thru them, etc, crazy! The sulphur smell wasn't too bad at Masaya but at the top (with the cross) there were oddly tons of bugs (which were very rare my whole trip) so we did not linger. I can't believe they used to throw virgins in there in sacrifices - what an awful way to go. I flew Tampa-Miami-Managua, very short flights!
Morgan's Rock was definitely lovely, no request was denied and the staff was so eager to please.

Hi tully
Boy something must have happened to the roads in Nicaragua because they were as "smooth as glass" a few years ago.
I remember commenting on how much better the road were than in Costa Rica ! Hmmm!
Yes ,I agree I sort of got the chills when I was told they sacrificed virgins and children on that hilltop with the cross.
Glad that Morgans Rock was a relaxing ending of your trip

Okay, flycatcher06, you've joined the ranks of mistaken sex identity. . .sounds ominous, doesn't it?
Jeff thought I was a guy for awhile, and I thought YOU were a guy--all this time! I guess it's good that we women don't sound too "frilly" when we write!
