Petropolis tour & tip

I shall do a private tour to Petropolis with a guide recommended in this forum. He charges 150 US$ for one day (9 hours tour).
Is this price resonable?
Have I give a tip ? (he is guide on his own, and this price was offered by him).

Thanks in advance.

Is he providing transportation, gas, toll and entrances to atractions? Is the price for a private tour? If all that is included, so itīs not expensive.
If he is self employed, you shouldnīt tip him.

Yes, it is a private tour (by the way a Grayline normal tour from Rio to Petropolis - 9 hours is 37 US$), and includes the transportation, gas, toll. I did not ask about entrances, I think that it is not a problem , I shall pay them if I need to.
Yes, he is self employed.
Thank you very much Simone.

Iīm a tour guide in Rio, and I think it is a reasonable rate. I charge a little bit more for the same service: US$ 170, not including the tickets or lunch.
Gasoline here is almost US$6 a gallon ! Also thereīs a toll fee on both ways to Petropolis, so it makes it more expensive.
We are used to be tipped. Of course if you donīt tip him, there will be no offense - Brazilians usually donīt tip at all.

I already made the tour of Petropolis, and I liked it.
My plans have been changed, and I visited Petropolis starting and ending in Nova Friburgo. The guide I had came from Rio. He was a very nice person, gave all the explanations and info. I paid 170 US$, not including the entrance fees, and not the lunch. The tour was 9 hours.
I was a little concerned, because the price I payed was 1/2 of the price that other private guide asked for. However, I was very pleased with the tour and I would recommend the guide I had to any person looking for a honest and good guide in Brazil.
