Panama por favor!
Hello fellow fodorites!,
We are going to Panama for the second time and cannot figure out a couple of travel decisions. We have business, but also trying to weave in a beautiful pleasure trip!
Two sets of questions here: Contadora and Semana Santo plans...
We have plans to visit Isla Contadora. Advice: We love to hike and beach it: is 3 nights too many nights? Should we bring snacks and food with us?
I understand that the 7:30am ferry leaves from Flamenco Island on the Amador Causeway (right?!). Because the ferry leaves so early, we're thinking about staying at The Beach House which is actually on the Causeway itself. It seems like the 6:45am call time would be easier. Opinions?
Also: are there Ubers or a shuttle to the actal Fuerte Resort and Marina? Is there more than one ferry company - is Aero Allbrook's ferry the same boat, but they're selling tickets to Sea Las Perlas fleet?? We have a dinner in the city the night before - could it be hard to get an Uber to the hotel later that night?
Our trip coincides with Semana Santo, which is cool for us. But...our plans were to head out to Coronado Good Friday. I believe that's the go-to spot for many Panama City dwellers. Any ideas for a potentially less congested place for us to go for the weekend? We will have been in Panama City for 3 nights midweek by then.
Thanks in advance for your kind and considered thoughts, opinions and ideas.
Best,
Cherie
