That looks like the road to Hidden Worlds. And that one was only 1/2 hr, in the back of an Indian Jones type truck. I was ready to get out after 1/2 hr.

I'll post back about our tours w/Sian Ka'an Community Tours. We want to do a full day of briding, lagoon swimming/flaoting, and sunset tour. But that woudl start at 6 a.m. (so we'd have to gt on the road from Playa before 5 a.m.) and last thru sunset. We'd be so tired we'd probably have to sleep in Sian Ka'an! So now we are thinking the same type of day RAC had, w/birdwatching (but soooo early in the morning, altho it sounds so worth it) and lagoon floating/swimming, and calling it a day after that.

KVR, have you ever looked at Huatalco? Next time we go to oaxaca I think we may go there for a few days at end of the trip. Pics online show very nice water w/some turquoise and white sand beaches and it is swimable. Interjet, discount MX airline, flies there from Mexico City.

Yes, that is the tour we did, and yes we were very tired by the end of the day. I made sure we didn't have anything planned the next day.

We decided not to do that snorkel tour in Cabo that takes 2 hours to get there and back. Maybe next time. We will do a snorkel tour, but one of the ones closer to Cabo. I know they said the beaches are not very swimable there, except Medrano Beach. Also, there are several companies that do various snorkel tours, so it can't be that bad in the entire area. We are really looking forward to our trip as it will be new to us.

I will check out Huatulco. Always looking for places to go for future vacations.

I don't mean to be that guy who tops his own thread, but here are some photos I meant to add to the trip report but didn't get around to uploading until too late.
