We were there in mid-February. Highs during the day were upper 70s low 80s. Sun in the middle of the day was sometimes fierce, especially at Monte Alban. Evenings cooled off; we usually wore long sleeve shirts or light jackets.

EYW - thank yo.u for posting this excellent report. Lots of really useful info. We are planning to visit Mexico & Central America for a few months from Feb next and may even make it for a few weeks in November, probably spending most of our time in Mexico City and Oaxaca. I am sure we will be checking out more than a few of your food suggestions!

Mlgb. Just arrived at Salt - THANKYOU ! A superb suggestion. The cat sends its regards!
If I may return the favour, do take a look at https://www.hotelconcorazon.com in Oaxaca. We spent a week there this time last year and loved it! Could easily have stayed a lot longer in Oaxaca (and probably will next time)

Haha, glad you're happy with it and my reputation with Carolyn is intact.

I have been struggling with how to split 2 weeks between Puebla, Oaxaca and CDMX (starting and ending there) .

I will start a planning thread but thanks for chiming in here. Enjoy the penguins!

I just got back from Mexico City and Oaxaca also. I really enjoyed the trip. I felt safe at all times. I particularly enjoyed Oaxaca. The main square in town was all decked out for Christmas, truly a great atmosphere.
