No reservations.
I met some folks last night on a plane. They said they went to Margarita (SP?) Island for their honeymoon with 'no reservations'. They got the idea from a tv show with that title. Would you go somewhere with no reservations, where would it be, with whom, why, and when.

Don't think I'd ever risk it for a honeymoon (that would be extreme busking it, don't you think!!) - and probably not (now I'm getting old and cautious) to a large city that I'd never been to before.
But otherwise - have done it many times. And would do it again.
When? - tomorrow.
With whom? - can I dream?
Why? - why on earth not?
Where? - some places appeal more than others, but outside of war zones, or places where you would be more hindrance than help - pretty much anywhere.
You?

My friend and I never travel with reservations unless we are arriving after dark. We prefer to wing it. We start off with an itinerary but have never stuck with it . . . we like to be able to change our mind on the fly.
But . . . we're budget travelers and are not picky about hotels . . . we just want them to be cheap, safe, and have a private bathroom. With the way we travel, we need to be able to check out the room before we commit.
It's not for everyone but we love the freedom it gives us.
Buen viaje,
Sandy (in Denton)

My sister and I will be traveling to CR for the second time in aug. for two weeks. Other than the first night there we have no reservations for anything else. I do alot of research and will be prepared when we go with directions, numbers, and the recommended places to eat and stay. I'm really excited about this and it will be nice to know that we can spend one night or five if we choose.

Wow! Let's see....
CR sounds awesome, and brilliantly adventurous without reservations. Brave souls!
I once traveled with college (ex) luv to Arkansas, and on the return, we stopped off in Abique (misspelled) New Mexico. We got a flat along the way.
I love going to Glenwood Springs for the hot healing waters. Anytime, usually with my dog who hangs out in the car. (she loves it, she has a big cup of water and smiles at people, it gets both of us out of the house)
I recently went to Durango for a 5K, slept in my car in the parking lot of the rec center to wake up to meet the local po-licia. Received a warning for 'camping' within city limits, but he let me go, without handcuffs.
Yesterday, I finished a 'turn' hopped a redeye to NYC and got my China Visa for my trip next week, and hopped on another flight home, to check my fodors posts, then to bed, then to another 4 day trip. (this might be the reason for my exhaustion, as posted on fodor lounge)
I go anywhere, anytime, as long as the dog is fed, and happy.
