That's a good question as I have booked my trip at the Cancun Palace. But I also want to know which ones are considered "the best." Anyone??

Sorry, I didn't visit Cancun Palace, we stayed at Moon Palace. We really enjoyed our week there. The rooms, beach, pool, etc. were very nice. I also replied to another Lisa who asked a question about Cancun on 2/1/00. However, we did visit the Beach Palace and were very glad we didn't stay there! The Moon Palace is a full-service hotel with two fitness centers, 2 HUGE, sprawling pools, nice beach (even though the water is not crystal clear), 7 restaurants, 3 pool bars where you can get lunch, nice rooms, etc. We just returned and the weather was beautiful all week - in the 80's...so I would think Sept. would be nice.

Hi Lisa, we just returned from the Cancun area. We stayed at the Allegro in Playacar and would give it a two star rating. The food is not good. We did check out some of the all inclusives around there though. Moon Palace is beautful and the food is excellent, but it's a $14.usd. cab ride to Cancun, so if you just want to stay at the resort it's an excellent choice. We also say a place called El Caracol, it's just outside of Playacar. Very nice and the food was excellent. Smaller than the Moon Palace.
we stayed at allegro playacar in playa del carmen a couple years ago, i think we went in January. we absolutely loved it! we had a room in a 4 room hacienda type building with a porch and a hammock. the room overlooked (at an angle) the most beautiful beach i have ever seen in my life. the pools where awesome with a swim up bar the service was excellent. i guess the food wasnt wonderful, it was probably 2 star, but with all those margaritas, we didnt really care. would definately go back to the same place.

We stayed at the allegro in cozumel and loved it. we found a great deal through funjet vacations: air and 7 nites for $599 pp. it was worth twice as much. the food was good and sometimes great. the beach, service and pools were awesome.

The best all inclucive hotel in playacar is the IBEROSTAR. The food was terriffic....Pool was great we went the end of August & came back Labor day. Goes way beyond the Allegro I would rate it a 5+ star lobster on the buffett several times 1 day was chanpagne for bkfst lunch & dinner...well worth the $. If you have any other specific questions e-mail me
