Mosquito netting at Bosque?
Hi there-
I'm hoping that some of you who have just returned from Bosque Del Cabo might see this post and have some insight. I was just reading under another post about the mosquito netting at Bosque being smelly, moldy, and useless (because there was no netting on the back side of the bed, leaving it open). This surprised me as I hadn't seen any mention of this under other posts while I was researching places to stay. I have no problem sleeping within mosquito netting, but I would like it to be effective at keeping any critters out! What was it like when you were there?
Thanks for your help!

I can confirm that the netting had a bad musty odor, but we slept comfortably, nonetheless.
No big critters made it into our bed, though there were several small moths, other small flying insects, and a few little crawling bugs. Nothing to panic over: it's the same story everyone in the country.
If you're worried, you can try pulling the bed away from the wall or tucking the netting between the back of the bed and the wall.
Also, be sure to ask the room cleaners not to tie your netting back up when they head in to clean in the morning.
I did hear some reports of people getting small bites of some sort in their beds at Bosque, but no one has identified what the insect was. I had no problems with that, but I also wore long-sleeved t-shirts and long pyjama bottoms to bed at night which probably served as good protection.
Relax, JTSmitty. You're going to love it there!

We just returned and had absolutely no problem with the netting. It covered all sides of the beds and we didn't notice it smelling moldy. We had double beds. My husband didn't use the netting, I did. I ended up with a spider on my net (on the inside) one night, but we handled it and that was an isolated incident. No bed bugs, giant scorpions, or cockroaches! Loved the place. It was a delight!
