Monteverde night hike tour

Any one have any information on this? I don't think we'll be able to squeeze in a guided tour the morning we are there, so I was thinking about doing this instead. Thanks.

I just did it a couple weeks ago. You don't have to make reservations... just go to the Monteverde Reserve entrance at 7:30 and they'll set you up with a tour guide. I didn't see as many animals as I expected, but I did see tarantulas, lots of frogs and insects, glow in the dark mushrooms, a sleeping toucanet and an olingo. The guide said that it was unusual that we didn't see more animals. I think that even the hike itself is definitely worth it... kind of surreal.

I didn't do the night hike at the Reserve itself, but while in the Monteverde area I did do a couple other night hikes: one at the Finca Ecologica and one at a place I think was called Hidden Valley. Both hikes were great and it's worth doing. Also, not very expensive (I can't remember exact price). I brought my own flashlight from home cause I heard the ones they provide you with aren't great (low batteries) and I was glad I did that. We saw lots of wildlife in both places (sleeping sloths, tarantulas, bats, insects of all kinds, etc.)
