mexico city to puerto vallarta $300 r/t. anyone know how to get it for less?

it's only a 1 hour flight, so i'm suprised by the cost. possibly a travel agent in mexico could do better?

Flight within Mexico are expensive. I don't know a way around it. You can go by first-class bus, it's about 5 hrs.

thank you, suze! 5 hours is just tooooooooo long for us. there must be travel agents in mexico (or u.s.) that have package getaways from MC to PV....

I agree with suze. I traveled all around Mexico by bus. No problem. Air travel is very expensive there and by time you've got to the airport, and two hours early, had delays, waited to deplane at your destination, waited for your luggage and traveled to the city centre, it could end up taking more than 5 hours. Besides you don't see a lot of Mexico from a few miles up whereas a bus ride can be very interesting.

Not sure, but I don't think it's 5 hours. Guanajuato is 5 hours. I think it's more like 10.

The flight is so easy that it's worth the $$$.

oh dear, big mistake. 5 hours is only Guadalajara!!! 10-12 is correct for Mexico City. lo siento
