MEX Airport Hotel

Any opinions about the Camino Real(formerly Marriott)vs the Hilton. Any sources for a good rate?
Most of the opinions I have read think neither one is anything special.
Thanks in advance.

I would agree that neither are special--only a good place if convenience is of the upmost importantce and your don't mind paying an excessive price for this convenience. I have rarely seen a good price for either.

You used to be able to get them from priceline, but I'm not sure whether they still have the airport category since the Camino Real took over the Marriott. We stayed there as a convenience last February and it was a VERY worn room, though I think we paid about $40 through priceline.

No , you can't get the Camino Real on Priceline anymore. The best rate I saw somewhere was about $ 94+ for the night and the Hilton is$130+. I could get the Jw Mariott for $65 on Priceline, but is it worth going into town? Isn't it about $ 25 each way in a taxi? Traffic etc?

The JW Marriott is a very nice hotel, with great service, and it is walking distance to the Chapultepec Park Museums, ie, Anthropology Museum, Carlotta and Maximillian's Castle, Modern Art, etc., and many wonderful restaurants in the Polanco area. For a cab you get a ticket at the glass-walled booth outside of baggage claim. I can't remember how much it was, but less than $25 I think, though the return rate is higher. Depends on how much time you have, I guess. If enough to see a little of the city, I would certainly take advantage of the opportunity.

I'll be staying there later in the week for 4 days, so I'll be seeing the city then. Thanks to you and all the others for the suggestions!
