Maroma and Cozumel
If you were staying at the Maroma Resort & Spa would you be crazy to leave for a day trip to Cozumel? I have never been to Cozumel. I also tend to do too many things on my trip. Should I relax? How is Cozumel different from the area around Maroma?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It depends on what you like. The Maroma is a beautiful, laid back place--very relaxing. Cozumel can be hectic (sometimes as many of 7 cruise shops are there) but it has good restaurants and good shopping.
Don't get me wrong--I love Cozumel and plan to retire there. It really just depends on your tastes and what you are really into.

The best part of Cozumel is the diving and snorkeling, so if these don't interest you, the daytrip isn't worth it.
If you do go, just grab a taxi and go south of town ASAP - that will get you away from the craziness. There are some great beach clubs along the west coast.
We just returned from the Yucatan and here is an idea for a slightly "different" daytrip: the city of Valladolid, with a classic town square and nice colonial architecture.
