Malaria on road to Chichen Itza

Just a head's up to those thinking about driving or taking a bus trip to Chichen Itza from Cancun or Cozumel. Red Cross put me on a deferred donor list for 1 year because of malaria on the road to Chichen Itza. No malaria in Cozumel, Cancun, or Chichen Itza, but it's on the way there. Flyig into Chichen Itza is ok.

Which part of the road? Does it make a difference if you arrive via Coba or Cancun?

Can't say about Coba. Talk to the supervisor of donor screening at the Red Cross's Norfolk, VA, regional office.
