MA tours

I have gleened that guides are available at the gate to MA Park.Is it best to hire one at the gate or book through hotel? Approximate cost? Is this a walking tour or riding? I understand that beach chairs are available for rent at the beach? Thanks

Yes and YES. Our group--8 of us, booked in advance because we wanted a private guide. You can get an idea of prices by going on to several touring companies' websites. This way, you will know if you are getting the right price BEFORE you go. The only problem you may encounter is that if the park is full at the hour you arrive, you may have to wait around in MA. If you don't want to chance it, go through your hotel. The tours are walking ones. And yes, if you go to the town beach--you can rent chairs, book excursions, buy souvenirs and towels--all the usual tourist stuff. You can try haggling for prices. Once inside MA park--(no outside vendors), I'm not sure if there is a way to rent chairs. I'd carry an extra towel and other beach stuff in a backpack.

We made arrangements through our hotel and seemed to get a good guide that way. Can't remember the exact price, but it isn't real expensive.

I don't remember chairs for rent within the park area although I could see them being offered on the public beach at the end of the trip. There seemed to be a lot of things available there. If you are on a guided trip, your stop on the beach will probably be fairly limited. I think we stopped for about 15 minutes. Our guide told us we could stay on the beach and make our own way back later, but no one did.
