Lap Top in CR

It really depends on where you stay. We stayed in 3 hotels in CR last year; only one of them (Grano de Oro) could get an internet connection; it's in San Jose and they house a lot of business travellers. The place where we stayed in Arenal had one dial-up line for the entire resort, and in our hotel in Manuel Antonio, there was no connection whatsover; we didn't even have a phone there. We were selling our house at the time, and my husband brought the laptop along so we could communicate with our agent. We're leaving it at home this year - more of a vacation without it. If you really feel it's necessary, call your hotels and see if you can even use it where you're staying. It's kind of fun to leave all that behind when you're on vacation somewhere like CR.

I've thought about the same thing, belarus, but decided against it as I don't want to have to worry about it while traveling here and there, especially when the wireless connections are not all that common--at least where I'm going. Too much of a headache. . .there are a LOT of internet cafes.
