Is this too cluttered?

Day 1: BA
Day 2: BA
Day 3: BA
Day 4: BA
Day 5: Early flight to El Calafate. See Perito Moreno Glacier.
Day 6: Perito Moreno Glacier
Day 7: Bus to El Chalten, short afternoon hike
Day 8: Day hike
Day 9: Day hike
Day 10: Bus to El Calafate, flight to Buenos Aires, then flight onto Iguazu (brutal day!)
Day 11: Iguazu
Day 12: Iguazu
Day 13: Flight to BA then nonstop flight back to US

The other option:
Days 1-9: Same
Day 10: Bus to El Calafate, flight to Buenos Aires
Day 11: BA (possible day trip)
Day 12: BA (possible day trip)
Day 13: BA

other possibilites: substitute Bariloche for Iguazu.

any thoughts?

No, I think it sounds fine. We flew from Iguazu all the way down to Ushuaia via BA in one day, so going from El Calafate - Iguazu should not be too bad. You might want to take the bus back late in the day to Calafate on Day 9, depending on the flights.

I would not miss Iguazu.

One more idea, save BA for last, just spend one night there then leave for Calafate on Day 2. That way you'll have plenty of time for shopping on the way back, plus I would not want to do all that flying in one day.

When???MONTH??? Do you think you can go bus bus to Calafate and come back flying the same day??? WOW! not even if we had a socket. The season of the year is very important to try an itinerary.
Warm regards.

This is very subjective, I know. But the NW is one of those places you should not miss. The diverse landscape is amazing in this area!
but you also have wines, goat cheese, empanadas, great flavours to taste.
Warm regards.
