Pure Trek Canyoning -- Arenal, CR

Does anyone know a place in Arenal/La Fortuna to get tickets for Pure Trek for less than $85 per person? Our hotel has discount tickets for other activities, but not this one. Does the $85 include transportation to/from the hotel? If so, maybe they would give a discount if we drive to their office ourselves (we won't want to go all the way back to Lost Iguana before our afternoon activities anyway) -- has anyone tried this?

We did this just last week, and absolutely loved it. We did not get a discount for driving ourselves. But I will say, the 8 of us on the tour thought it was a good value, worth every penny. This is a first class operation, with 3 well-trained guides for only 8 or 9 people, well-kept-up equipment (we felt very safe the whole time), well-kept trails and a decent lunch.

Thanks, rickandpat. Did you do the morning or afternoon trip?

We wanted a lazy morning (the only one of the trip), so chose the afternoon. It worked out great - and it's a good thing to do if it's rainy, by the way. Either way you're going to get wet, and down in the slot canyon not much rain penetrates.

I'm glad you enjoyed the afternoon trip. It makes sense to do on a rainy afternoon if we'll be getting wet anyway, and save the drier morning for something else. My concern with the afternoon tour was a few reviewers said the morning trip went long and they felt like the guides really rushed them through the afternoon trip.
