Hotels and tours in Brasilia

We'll be in Brasilia during our upcoming trip to Brasil and I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for hotels or tours focusing on the architectural heritage.

The hotels all seem to be in the same area (the hotel sector) and we're considering the Nacional whish is one of the original buildings. Does anyone have any thoughts/advice?

The city seems to be fairly spread out and a tour seems like the best way to go, particularly because we don't have alot of time. Can anyone suggest a tour company or whether we'd be better to consider a private vs group tour?

Many thanks

Well,
I live in Brasilia.
As you said, all the hotel are very close each other (the hotel sector), but there's another one on the lake (Paranoa)- Blue Tree Park, but is more expensive.
I'll look for a company tour.
When are coming here?
How long are stayng here?

Dear Beto,
Many thanks for your reply.

We'll be in Brasilia overnight and have a full day to tour the city at the end of August.
Would you recommend the Hotel Nacional? We'd greatly appreciate it if you could recommend a tour company that specializes in architectural tours.

Many thanks.

I was out of Brasilia the last two days, then I couldn't find a tour company, but as you have time to the end of august, don't worry!
Yes, I recommend hotel Nacional. It isn't the most modern hotel in town, but one of the most knowed.
By the way, where are you from?

Glad to hear the nacional is recommended, we picked it precisely beacause it's on of the older hotels and has the flavor of the original architecture.

We live in California but I'm for the UK. Has anyone been on an architectural tour or Brasilia and can help?
Thanks

Well, there's a tour company that can shows you our architecture. In fact, almost all sightseens are about this subject.
The tour takes about 3:30 hs. The price are:
for one person: R$116,00 (about US$38.00)
for 2 or 3 persons: R$60,00 (about US$19.00) each one.
for 4 or 5 persons: R$50,00 (about US$16.00)
Have you already your date of arrival in Brasilia?
PS: As you must know, Brasilia is a young city. It was founded in 1960.

Some questions more about your trip:
How many persons are coming with you?
How long are you stay here?
Have you already booked the hotel? I know the manager of the Hotel Nacional and, maybe, I can arrenge a better price.
