Has anyone stayed at Hotel California? Will be staying in Manuel Antonio area for three nights. Are there restaurants in this area or do you stay with what the hotel has to offer? How are the rooms, etc? How far away are they from the beach? Have only seen postings from the hotel owner on this site. Thanks JT

I just went to Hotel California 3 weeks ago. It is up on the hill with a beautiful view and very nice rooms. They have a very nice restaurant and there are also several in the area. You are a walk from the beach but it is very centrally located. Hope this helps.

The hotel is beautiful, the pool overlooks a relaxing view. The hotel is on a hill between Manuel Antonio and Quepos as are most in the area. Hotel California is situated back from the road a bit and thus- quiet. The restaurant has good food and the staff are very friendly and plain old nice. Buses and taxis to the beach and either town are cheap and plentiful. Enjoy your trip! Peace!

JT<BR>i dont think you can do much better than the hotel cal....my wife and i stayed there twice a few months back....we came back to manuel antonio, tried a couple of other alternates but this place really worked for us...you will go out to other restaurants to get a feel for the area but their service is great, the rooms are top notch (with lots of THINKING that went into the design and amenities)...and everywhere you stay will entail a walk to the beach...taxis are cheap and buses plentiful....my wife refused to stay anywhere else ....my only question would be why not relax a bit and stay longer than 3 days???
