Hotel advice in Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo

My husband and I will be traveling to Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo this October and I am trying to find some different options for accomidations. We would love a smaller type hotel/villa/bungalow situated on a beach, and we'd love to keep the price a bit lower. Any thoughts? Thanks.

My husband and I are planning a trip to the same place at the same time. I did a little poking around on the web and found a hotel called the "Best Western Posada Real - Ixtapa". The room rates around $75.00 a night and it looks like a very intimate place that sits right on the beach.

Good luck.

There are some really nice places in Zihuatanejo. We stayed at a place called Tucanes. We had 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 'villa' with full kitchen and living room. There were only 2 of us, so it was a bit more than we needed, but really nice. Rate was good as well. If you do a search on Google, you'll find lots of options. I think many of them want full payment upfront, which is a bit risky, I suppose. We did pay upfront, but were very pleased with our choice. This was 2 1/2 years ago.

Try "Bungalows Ley". right on Madera Beach, very close to downtown. Nice and clean, great view. Easy walk to Playa La Ropa.

I traveled to Ixtapa in May and I'm going back next month! We stayed at the "Best Western Posada Real". If you are looking for value...this is it! The hotel does lack a bit in amenities, but the service was great, the restaurant was excellent, and the pool facilities are beautiful. The rooms are OK, we had an ant problem. No one else had the ant problem. We were the lucky ones I guess.
