Help w/ Tours in Arenal

We're leaving next week, can anyone tell us if we have to book tours ahead (Easter break) or if we can do the following on our own: La Fortuna Waterfalls, night hike to Arenal (nt'l park), Venado caves, Butterfly tour, hanging bridge? Tabacon resort is suggesting booking ahead w/ them - that's where we are staying. I'm wondering if we can hire our own guide?

Hi,

Well, you don't need a guide for the waterfalls, you just go to the park, pay your $6, and walk down (water's cold, but it's fun to swim there). If you don't have a car, just have a taxi take you there.

Hanging bridges-again, it's a park you walk through. No guide needed, just a car or a taxi.

Didn't do the other stuff, but there are numerous tourist information offices in La Fortuna that can arrange things for you.

Have fun!

You can do LaFortuna Waterfall on your own. A taxi can pick you up and drop you off. A taxi can also drive you around the outside of the park/volcano at night, too.
