Help! Need a transfer from airport to monteverde
I thought I was going to use Interbus, but they haven't responded to any of my emails and time is running out. I am flying into CR on Sat. Aug. 28th and need a transfer to my hotel in Monteverde.
According to the Interbus website, I cannot make a reservation for Sat. because it is too soon.
Does anyone know of a good way to get from the airport to Monteverde?

You could also contact Oscar, the private driver we hired at: [email protected]. However, he does not always check his email daily, so you might not get a response right away

oops, somehow this reply didn't post and my second one did:
Message: dtella,
I responded on your other thread yesterday. Interbus might not be responding because there is a huge general strike on right now in Costa Rica. It started with truckers and now it includes hospital workers, teachers, unionized taxi drivers and other public employees.
See the current articles in www.amcostarica.com and www.ticotimes.com.
You could also contact www.costaricatransfers.com. They usually respond to requests promptly, and may be able to update you on the whole transportation situation. The cost of their transfers are expensive for just one person, but given the situation in the country right now, they might be able to match you up with other people going to your destination. That is, if anyone is getting through at all. (nobody was on Tuesday, when we were stuck in the blockades) They should be able to help you.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. Seems like the strike is now over but I'm still getting nowhere with Interbus.
Unfortunatly the private service is too expensive.
Are here other ways to get form the airport to Monteverde? What kind of transportation can you find at the airport?
