Guatemala for the motion sick prone?

I get motion sick easily. Really windy roads, especially those with no view (no focal point) and no stretches of straight road, tend to make me sick.

So, I need advice on the "windyness" of the following roads and would love any information.
Guatemala City to Antigua, probably no problem, short ride. Right?
How about Antigua to Panajachel?
Panajachel to the Chichicastenango market?
Panajachel to Quetzaltenango?
Thanks!

The first one is a major route (with road works when I was there) so it's several lanes in each direction for part of the way. But I still don't recollect it being particularly straight or flat. It's G not the USA or Europe!! No freeways there!

To and from Pana you have to get down to/up from the lakeside so, yes, nice and narrow and twisty and turny and steep.

Didn't go to Quetzaltenango.

But don't let it put you off. New place; new sights; new experiences - plenty to occupy the mind on a road journey.

Cheers.

I find that sitting up front with the driver helps a lot. Guatemala is wonderful. Enjoy

Because the highlands are, well, highlands, there are at least parts of all the trips that are windy. Even the "highway" shot between GUA and Antigua bring on that feeling because they tend to drive fast and weave in and out of traffic.

Have you tried Sea Bands? They're knit bands with a hard bead that pushes on a pressure point near the inside of your wrist. I know it sounds fishy but the friend I traveled in Guatemala with in 2007 and I usually both have that tendancy and she swears by them. The combination of Bromine and Sea Bands served us well and we were on some notoriously sick-inducing roads you haven't named. Happy trails!
