Going to P.V - need help
I am going in two weeks with our family of 4. What is the expected cab fare from the airport to the Sheraton (or surrounding area )if anyone knows?
Also, is it better to use credit cards and green dollars or convert some money as well?

A cab ride will probably be about $20 us dollars to the Sheraton. You will be in a great location since the Sheraton is very close to downtown. Just walk to the main street and take a bus to downtown, it is very safe. No need to be taking cabs. Have fun.

A little less than that, more like $15 US.
Buy you taxi tickets at the booths beside the exit doors of the airport. Also be aware that right after Customs you will enter a timeshare area (Trap), I suggest you put your head down and go straight through it.

No, please don't plan to use "green dollars". You can easily get peso by changing U.S. at a bank or cambio window or withdrawing from an ATM. Credit cards are fine, but be aware that they are not accepted at some of the smaller local restaurants or shops.
The taxi prices from the airport are set, and you can pay with peso or U.S. dollars at the ticket window.

Just got back from the Sheraton on Saturday 4/3/04. Few things you should know only 1 restaurant was opened that is the one right on the beach it has been completely renovated and serves all 3 meals. Breakfast and lunch were great I would definitely go out to dinner. The beach has not been cleaned up since the hurricane but the pool areas are wonderful all new and so clean. We took the cab from the airport and I think it was $15. If you use credit cards to convert you will get the full amount of peso for your dollar. One more thing the hotel does not accept $100 bills to cash in for pesos try to bring bills less than $100 so you can change the money. Have fun wish I was going back!!! Have to wait until next year.
