Spa treatments at Tabacon or Xandari (CR)
I would love to hear opinions about the quality of spa treatments at Iskandria Spa at Tabacon Resort and at the Xandari Spa. I really want to get a volcanic mud body wrap while we’re in CR, probably in combination with a massage or other treatment. My husband won’t be happy if I “waste” too much vacation time on spa treatments (plus there is the cost factor), so I will have to choose just one spa. Please tell me your experiences!

I was quite happy with the package I purcahsed. It included a facial, massage, and manicure/pedicure. I though the prices were reasonable when compared to the US. I was there in 2004.
It was the most vigorous pedicure I've received in a while, but my feet were baby-soft for days afterwards!
The only thing which may be worrisome is that it was co-ed, and I thought they could have made the changing areas/treatment rooms more private.
Enjoy!

I don't know about the spa at Tabacon, but the spa at Xandari is wonderful. I'd recommend getting a private palapa for a half hour before and after your treatment. (I think it was $10 each). You and your husband can share a private jacuzzi overlooking the valley and relax. It's heavenly.
