five days in Costa Rica in February
After a week of business in San Jose, I plan to spend 4 - 5 days seeing a bit of the country. Based on previous forum comments, the Arenal area and its scenic attractions seem like a good destination.
Would it make the most sense for me rent a car for a few days or take a bus to the Arenal area and get around with bus/taxis?

If you're comfortable driving, a car would give you more freedom since the area is quite spread out and taxis can add up. From one place we stayed out near the lake, it was $25 one way to take a taxi to town.
We love the area, tons to do there. Good choice.
