You will love Jose...he is extremely helpful and we enjoyed our two nights at the lodge. If you don't mind a taxi ride, or if you have a car, I would suggest Sabor Espanol. They have an excellent avocado app and paella (must be ordered in advance). Jose will make reservations for you if you desire.

You have time for hikes in both the Monteverde and Santa Elena reserves, can go on the zipline or hanging bridges at Selvatura, night hike at Children's Eternal Forest.
We loved Stella's Bakery, ate lunch there a few times, shopped across the street at CASEM, a women's co-op with locally produced goods.
There's also a great place for ice cream - Sabores? Sabadores??
Don't miss the Hummingbird Gallery next to the MV reserve parking lot, especially early morning or late afternoon - swarms of hummers.

If interested in nature do both the Santa Elena and Monteverde NP. Hiking the San Luis waterfall is also very interesting. If into private guide then contact Andres Alvarado at http://forestalive1.blogspot.com/ . Very tasty local food at CASEM (lunch) opposite from Stella's Bakery and El Fogon (dinner).
