FIRST TIME IN RIO

Message: can someone help me?, I am going to pass the new year at Rio. Is it very difficult to find lodging arriving on december 30 and going out on january 4?, a good tip for lodging ranging to not more than US$ 50 per night for a single room and quiet and well located?. Maybe is too much what I am asking, but these forums are extremely useful in these cases. Thanks you very much

I believe the Hotel Ducasse is still available. That would be around $60.00 each night.

Too late for the Ducasse, I just checked it out online. Your budget may be allright for a regular time of year but I think for a high season like New Years might be stretching it.

The following was the result of your availability request:

You should expect it to be very difficult finding lodging for the first two nights. The three nights in January should be easier.

Thanks a lot Dondiega, another alternative for about US$ 80 per night?
Something in barra de Tijuca for example?
What about the Olinda Othon?

Actually the Hotel Ducasse still has availability. They emailed me yesterday with the rates. They have a 4 night min. stay for the period.

Unfortunately, you cannot rely on the online booking engines for accurate information when it comes to availability during the holidays.

E-mail or telephone the hotels direct.
There are cancellations daily, and you may be able to find space
