Can anyone tell me anthing about this resort?
Are the grounds nice, rooms clean, food good
for a family, pools well maintained, is it right on the beach? Is the water rough or calm and what is the sand like. Any info
is much appreciated. Also how safe did you feel in this area of mexico. Does the hotel
have its own water purification system or should we stick with bottled water.

Thanks very much.

I have heard several comments from parties who say that this hotel has poor food and hard beds to name a few things. I found this out recently while making inquiries for a group trip to P Vallarta. Needless to say that took this hotel out of the running for us. Especially since one of the sources was a travel agent who said they have heard numerous complaints about this hotel.

Hello, my name is Mary and I live in Puerto Vallarta, I work for a tour-company and we receive a lot of people, coming to Puerto Vallarta for their vacation. We have only had few people staying at the Sunset Bay, but those who went there were always happy.
I have also been there, but I never stayed there which is different of course.
HOwever, Kristine's comments do surprise me a little, as the hotel really looks nice. In my opinion it is a bit too far out, but the grounds and the rooms look good, and I have had lunch there a couple of times and the food was reasonably good for an all-inclusive resort.
It is a bit more quiet than other all-inclusive resorts, as for example the Allegro and the Sierra, probably more for honeymooners and couples that want to have more rest than loud music, shows and entertainment all day long.
For a family with children I would recommend the Allegro Resort (very good food as well ) or the Sierra ( a little more expensive but also with a more complete all-inclusive program).
The hotel does have a purification system, but water is still different than at the US. If you are going to drink the water, I would suggest bottled water, if you just brush your teeth, you can use the water from the tap.
The area is very, very safe. Both the Nuevo Vallarta area, where the hotel is located as well as the downtown area in PUerto Vallarta, which you will definitely want to visit.
The beach is nice in the Nuevo Vallarta area. Even though the most beautiful beaches are more outside Puerto Vallarta, all South or all North. You will probably want to take a cruise-boat to some of the beautiful beaches, which are only accessible by sea. Have a look at the web-site http://www.royale-tours.com where you will find some good tours. I can recommend you the Caletas excursion, the Sierra Madre Safari and the Highlights of Puerto Vallarta. Send me an e-mail if you have any questions.
