Yep put $2 or so in my passport leaf to the back...

you are not directly bribing them but they have the

option to take it or not...

they always take it and wave me on...

Has never failed me...better a small bite than a big bite...

the speed limit in small highway towns is 24MPH(40K/hr)

almost impossible not to get caught speeding in some of them.

Anyway just what I do hope it helps good luck...

My husband and I drove around CR for two weeks and were stopped at a routine traffic stop once and the female police officer checked our passports, was pleasant and appropriate, and waved us along.
