It's a more authentic wilderness hike with narrower trails, the need to wear protective clothing (ticks), more walking around. It also gets very muggy by the lagoon there. There's also less constant activity--it's ridiculously easy to see monkeys and sloths in Manuel Antonio if you have a good guide.
